the doughnut craze

My colleague's friend lined up for dont know how many hours for that donut at Cityhall..

My verdict?

Dont try it. Don't bother. It tastes the same as the ones you buy at HDB bakery shop. its normal. It's soggy. It's blah...



If you want a better donut in SG, go to taka B1 - there is this donut stall which is sooo much better!

Obviously those who are lining up wasting their precious minutes or hours of their lives, have never tried the wonderful Krispy Kreme.. poor souls.. i pity them..



ahhh the wonderful krispy kreme.. My friend came back from melbourne over the weekend and he specially hand delivered my lovely krispy kreme doughnuts!! it was heavenly.. the best ever..

i am telling you. once you had one bite of krispy kreme glazed donut, you will never ever look at other donuts! it melts in your mouth... not joking..!! ahhhhhhhhhh..

heading down to KL this weekend.. and the next best option to Krispy Kremes? DUNKIN DONUTS! yeyyyyy~~

My favourite flowers

I love flowers.. in all types and colors..
Especially these are my all time favourites which i will probably have for my wedding :P and have meanings of the flowers too! -

1) Orchids - Love, beauty, refinement, beautiful lady
2) White Daisy - Innocence, loyal love, purity, I'll never tell.
3) White Lily - Virginity, purity, majesty. It's heavenly to be with you.
4) White tulip - Perfect lover, frame
5) baby breath - Innocence, pure of heart
6) Freesia - trust, Innocence
7) Cosmos - beautiful

(seems like i am seriously innocent and pure :P)

In singapore you hardly get across Freesia and Cosmos.. And i relate these two flowers to Korea with lot of memories..

Freesia is a small flower and its very fragrant. you have a small stalk in the room, and you have a house scented like freesia.. You usually have this in winter.. I love it in yellow especially.. I came across at a florist in Taka and was so happy but it was like 18 bucks for a small stalk! so expensive!!


Cosmos.. you usually find it end of summer going autumn.. when there is cosmos you know autumn is coming.. or i will say you know summer vacation is over and new school term is starting REAL soon :P
you will not give cosmos as a bouquet. usually you will keep it between pages in ur books in different colors to dry it. it is spotted by the roadside.. and i love in white and in pink the most..

I miss Korea.. I miss end of summer going autumn..

My weekend!

It has been three weeks since my mom has been here and has been great..
home cooked meals, clean house, laundry all done .. heh no i don't see my mom like a maid.. she is just purrfect - doing all the house chores plus her daily activities like shopping and going for hi-teas! I dont know how she does it!
but i guess we women are good at multi-tasking :D

We can work till 6pm, still can go home cook dinner, breastfeed the baby, watch tv dramas, clean house, make hubby happy.. are we a super woman or what!
kudos to women!

Thursday..
My God-niece Shane Emmanual Lee is born! There were fireworks for his grand entrance to this world.. I am so happy for Esther and Shawn's addition to the blessed family.. once i have my car to drive to their plc (sis, your house was a bit far!), soon i will be stalking my pretty god-niece and cutie god-nephew..! and do my duty as a super-aunt!

Friday..
Went over to my bb house to see how his pets r doing - an arowana which i named "nesh-ri" and a small one dont remember what "brand" which i named "yoyo". Arowana is doing very well.. at beginning didnt understand why this fish costs a few grand. but this Arowana is quite an acquired "taste" i should say. I begin to like it.
and.. it is amazing how the fish recognise me. nesh-ri doesnt really like me (i guess it's jealous cuz it's a "SHE") but yoyo is always so happy to see me. she will swim left and right up and down follow me around. Me and bb can just stand in front of the tank for an hour looking at e fish and i get amused by how it eats e live worms. yeeeeek..
I dont like gold fish and those aquarium fish. Cuz when young my mom will always flush them down e toilet when they were dead. And i will have nightmares that it will swim back up middle of e night...
Then we were almost late for our midnight show, so drove reaaaaal fast to vivo and caught Bourne Ultimatum.. quite cool. i like Matt Damon.

Saturday..
I went to perm my hair again! this time it is much better. hope it last at least two weeks this time :P
then went out with my baby..
He managed to figure out how to drive to fisherman village - elias park.. didnt know it was such a short 15mins drive from my plc! I always have this feeling that Elias park is super far. We had couple of beers and we were already feeling drunk!
It is nice there at night with cool breeze and coverband songs. and the light went out several times due to short circuit or what, but that made it even more surreal! really feel like u r in overseas by the beach having a good hoe. Cant wait till Dec when we head out to Bali!

Sunday..
Pastor Prince preached about being "worry-free". God is flowing us with all the blessings in finance, career, health, relationship and whatever you name it.. God has taken care of us in all areas already.. So do not worry.. bad things happen from the area you are most worried about. and that is so true. And i needed to hear this so badly.
Then went shopping w my mom.. So tiring.. and i just added another LV to my bag collection.. Thanks mom!! so happi...

And monday again.. another long week with series of meetings.. no more public hol till november! but will be heading to KL next weekend for a shopping spree.. that will do some good. :)

being late 20s means..

physically really challenged. you can feel it in your bones. I guess it's the age catching up.
They say once you hit 25, time flies real quick and suddenly you are looking at the big 3-0

How can I tell I am aging? Compared to early twenties to late twenties..

1) Use to take two days to recover from jet-lag. Now it takes one week.
2) Injuries i had when i was young - now I feel the after effects
3) I only needed 4 hours of sleep a day.. now at 1am, my brain is already asleep
4) hangover? now i need to sleep one whole day to recover
5) midnight shows? oh pls let me sleep..
6) Orchard road was my hang out during the weekends. Now I try to avoid as much as possible and go to neighbourhood malls. hooray to parkway and tampines mall!
7) I cant shop at Far East anymore.. I only go there to quickly get a haircut and get out.
8)During that time of the month, it is not only cramps now.. Migraines come with it too
9) I dare to voice out complaints and scold telemarketers
10) i wake up real early when the sun comes up. Feel guilty when i sleep till noon
11) I frown at teenagers - i feel the generation gap
12) Start to think how to invest my $$ and think about pension fund and retirement
13) Getting to be concerned about global issues - Go GREEN! RECYCLE!!
14) Quickly scan for a seat in MRT and rush in to sit down (so auntie!)
15) start to compare prices between market place and fair price
16) Always put on sun block with UV protection when i go out and eyecream is a MUST
17) Not keen on sweet desserts anymore - prefer soupy stuff
18) When go travelling prefer to take a slow stroll and appreciate the cultural stuff rather than roaming around shopping malls (unless in Paris for LV)
19) Financially independent - seriously everything comes out from my own pocket
20) My mom doesnt nag anymore :P
21) Prefer to drive slowly on 2nd lane compared to speeding away on ECP hitting 120km/hr few years back
22) buy more insurance
23) try to think back what have i been doing since 25
24) Prefer to hang out at home with dvds rather than hitting the clubs
25) Don't bother about what people think anymore- if i like u means i like u. i dont have to pretend to like u anymore
26) start to measure success
27) not thrilled about # of gucci bags i own - starting to look at new properties and how much the COE has gone up.. (but still dont mind getting more bags! :P)
28) after my degree i swore i will never study again. but now feel the urge to get masters
29) start to appreciate those that you never thought of before

Korean Hostage Situation

This is purely my own personal point of view... Everyone has been asking me what do I think of this whole thing...

I feel sorry and terrible for the hostages' families in Korea.. I can't even imagine what they are going through.. All i can do is pray for the family and hope they come back home safely..

But..

I think the church and the people who went there should be held responsible..
it is merely like 2 years ago when the korean was be-headed. They should have known the dangerous situation that was laid right in front of them so clearly.

I mean it is important to do God's work, but despite all the warnings and obviously knowing there is a war going on and still going ahead - i think that's selfish..

Today that church held the press conference and apologised to the nation..

My mom goes to missionary trips every year. She went to Egypt last year and Mongolia last month. However our church does not send them to the danger zones. Even there is a slight stress detected in that country, the church will immediately cancel the trip.

If my mom wants to go to Afganistan to do missionary work i will break her two legs (and maybe plus a arm) to make sure she cant go...

However i do pray for the situation to turn around and they will return safely..

Super Random post

I was in such a foul mood yesterday. i went to robinsons and i dropped and broke the xxx brand pore minimiser sample bottle.. but i was so kooool about it but Kelly wasnt. i argued that the bottle could be expired so the customers should be thanking me since they have to open a brand new tester bottle..
come and think of it... i should drop by later and check if it is indeed a brand new bottle.
Anyway it was by accident! not on purpose. but after that i felt so much better!

I have finally..

bought a car and can call it my very own ride..

I can't wait! It will be here on September.. haiz.. cant wait cant wait cant wait..!

No more complaining about not being able to find a cab during peak hours.. no more frowning cuz of the various body odours in MRT.. no more worrying about sudden down pours..

I was praying for a new car for about two weeks exactly.. I was in a crowded train on my way to work and God spoke to me saying I will be driving real soon. So that I wont be late to church anymore when it rains and I will be able to ferry my brother and my baby together to church... :) cuz i was kinda worried that when my brother comes, i wont be able to bring him to church together since we only have two wheels... And my bro is not a big fan of hot weather so he will surely give all the excuses not to go church..

and indeed I am so favored by God he has given me one.. i prayed "Thank you daddy for giving me a Lexus" even I didn't have one on hand.. I had already thanked him because I believed he will give me one as he promised :P
Then two nights ago, on Friday my dad called.. Told me to get a car the next day.
So on Saturday with john and kel we went car shopping.. and voila.. I ordered the car. And today I got the check ready, passed to the dealer - a new found friend and now I am waiting for September..

and no God didnt get me a Lexus because he knows it is my first car, so Lexus is a too big a burden (though believe it or not my mom told me to buy a Lexus instead..!).. So he got me a cute chic sporty one..

It's Toyota Rush in white!! woo hoo!!

I look so good in it, on it, under (havent tried but I am very sure!) it!

My Favourite song for many years since FCBC days to now NCC... which is in my head everyday nowadays. and brings tears to my eyes whenever i sing this because i feel so much love for him and him for me.
Even how many times i fail him, he has already forgiven me even before i blurt out the "fxxx" word :P
He has provided me with so much blessings and more supernatural blessings to come.. I am so favored by him, my daddy!

And somehow my most beautiful God-niece's mommy knew it (it's daddy's doing!) and gave me the Hillsong CD for my long waited xmas present together w my birthday present.. :)

my 29th Birthday!

yes.. I have finally hit 29.. but it is not as bad as i thought.. :)
I am looking forward to 30 actually.. as most of my friends who have reached the 30s tell me that once you reach 30, life is better and you look forward to be 40.. :P

Not sure if 29 is a special number, but I received so many wishes via smses and emails..

Also lovely gifts.. Maybe because i have just moved to a new place, most of my prezzies were for my new home. And i love em! they are all purrfect for my new home deco.. thanks thanks thanks million thanks!

Friday the 13th.. drunk at zouk... and I called the taxi driver Jon (sharen's bf).. My bf gave up on me :p


Saturday the 14th.. Lovely dinner at French Stall and midnight shopping at Mustafa!


Sunday the 15th.. Pastor Prince is back with another blessed sermon.. and BIG dinner with giant steam crabs ... cake! and i specially love the ..ahem.. candle..


the actual day 16th.. a day off with my darling boyfriend.. :) and yes i am trying to teach crayon how to blow a candle.. but looks like she is flaming from the nose.. :P

our beloved Neo's birthday!

It was ah-neo's 28th birthday! :D

Another occassion for all our ex-blues to meet up.. It is so cool that all of us are still in contact and still close.. (5 clowns missing from pic - tam, mar, caro and robin, yew)

it was fun! and the movie present we gave to ah neo was Transformers.. and it was gooood! fantastic! wanna watch it again..

Been here exactly 2 years and 3 months now.. and is time to fly..

It was fun.. lots of memories..

Is just seems like yesterday when i moved in!!

When i got all my ex-blue colleagues to come and help me move and they really fit the bill! from unpacking, throwing away the boxes to cleaning up the kitchen! you know who you all are.... :D

during my 27 months stay here, i used the bayshore gym once. Eaten at the cafeteria about 6 times. Had bbq twice. Hosted drunken people couple of times. House parties handful times, dinner party (which i actually cooked for people!) 3 times.

Oh man, I am gonna miss this place!

Now i leave this place to a much bigger 3 bedroom apartment to house more boxes of shoes, too many bags, more clothes, a fatten up cat, and additional i-killed-the-barney couch...

Year end holiday!

It is mid year and me and my friends have already planned our new year holiday...
We have booked and paid the villa a month ago and now we are sourcing for air tickets.

We are heading to Bali on 29th Dec - 3rd Jan '08.

it is a bit kiasu to plan a holiday so ahead but, i think we all deserve to have something to look forward to! :) A new year in Bali!

and now.. i can't barely wait!

hope that we will still be friends till year end... ;P
Probably we will be so overdosed with one another that by the time we come back, we will not see eachother for a month. haha

It is just so scary!

I hate to admit it.. but yes, my life evolves around my work... haiz!

end of the day having someone who loves me besides me, and my cats greeting me when i get home - that makes everything alright..

So it will be another blessed week ahead! Though how tough the work is or how much workload I have, it will be indeed a blessed week again since I have all I need and all I want that makes me happy and makes me going. and that makes a purfect day everyday..

It was still ok when I tried to open the toilet door and cursing out loud who locked the bloody damn door.. after few seconds of cursing, realise i have the key on my other hand..

It was still understandable when i reached office and cursing again why isnt the door opening and realise I didnt scan my access card..

It was still acceptable when i was trying to open the office door using the password and thinking fuck the office door doesnt work again! and a colleague behind you asks "what # is that?" and realise it is my atm password..

But you know you have totally lost it, when you are looking for the seat belt at the cinema and thinking howcome my seat doesnt come with one??

hmmmmm.....
Thank God I only have to work 4 days this week!!

what was i up to?

Was a busy week last two weeks...

First, it was my baby's "supposed surprise" birthday party.. yes was supposed to be a surprise but end up spilling it all :P
I am so bad at keeping surprises! It was kinda cute though, where he went around inviting people "hey you are invited to my surprise bday party at MOS on saturday 11pm onwards"... Not a surprise at all..

Was a good party - well at least for him where most of his friends turned up and he was terribly sloashed which i had to suffer the next day :P

Then we watched the Phantom of the Opera.. It was good but not spectacular.. Maybe i had too much expeactation.. maybe esplanade is too small... sometimes, less expectation is good. but we did enjoy it of course.

Then finally last Monday, we headed to krabi.. weather was so disgusting.. rain.. sun.. drizzle.. sun.. rain.. for whole four days..! was terrible. but we enjoyed the thai dishes and the sinful mango sticky rice.. it was soooo good!

And the lobster!



However we ended up food poisoned on the last day.. damn.. wat a terrible trip back home it was.. could be the stupid eat all you can for 220bhatt buffet.. could be the stupid coffee at this dodgy indian restaurant.. who knows..

but was a real good break... no complaints! :)
